EMR Case Study
A project begins with you, the customer, and a desire to improve the hot drink and food offering on-board your trains.
Project brief
A further project initiated by Bombardier, this time to install a 6kW hot water producer capable of providing high volumes of boiling water and reducing the initial heat-up time to a minimum.
Two variants were required, one for filling small jugs and the other for a more rapid fill of large vacuum flasks
Solution provided
As with all our rail projects, working prototypes were produced for extended onboard testing before production commenced. Once the final design had been passed by all stakeholders, the boilers were approved to BS EN 50121-3-2 (EMC), BS EN 61373 (Shock & Vibration) and BS EN 60335-2-75 (Electrical) by independent testing houses.
Although one of three bespoke projects that year, these hot water producers were delivered on time and to budget.
